The Top 3 Stories

1. TikTok opens its ad platform to third-party AI “Skills”
TikTok launched Agentic Hub, a marketplace of first- and third-party AI Skills that plug into its Ads Model Context Protocol, letting agents build campaigns, generate creative, analyse performance and manage catalogues. Providers including HubSpot, Wix, Constant Contact and Mobvista have already published Skills. TikTok frames them as decision support, not just automation.
Why it matters: As agents move into ad workflows, an open Skills marketplace lets marketers bring their own tools instead of one platform’s closed stack. 📰 Social Media Today
2. Profound launches an AI agent that runs marketing end-to-end
AI-search-visibility startup Profound launched Aim, a ChatGPT-style agent that tracks a brand’s citations and sentiment across assistants like ChatGPT and Claude. When it detects a drop in mentions, it writes a memo, creates a project with tasks, and routes the work to other agents to run. Profound calls it a tool that orchestrates the whole marketing loop.
Why it matters: Agentic tools are shifting from dashboards to doing: fewer reports to read, more work drafted and queued for your sign-off. 📰 Adweek
3. Palantir’s Karp blasts AI pricing as a “wealth tax” on business
Palantir CEO Alex Karp used a live CNBC interview to attack the AI industry, accusing leading model makers of overcharging customers while harvesting their data to improve rival systems. He framed the sector’s fees as a “wealth tax” on business and said the CEOs he speaks with are “livid.” Palantir shares rose more than 9% that morning.
Why it matters: As marketers commit real budget to AI tools, it is a blunt prompt to scrutinise vendor pricing and where your first-party data ends up. 📰 Forbes

The weekly deep dive
Same query, different winners: why your brand can vanish from AI answers
Ranking well in Google no longer guarantees a brand shows up when the same question is put to an AI assistant.
The visibility gap is real
New research from LQ Digital, shared with Marketing Dive, found 42% of brand citations in organic search never appear in AI overviews for the same query, while 28% of AI-cited brands are absent from organic results. Broadly, 46% of AI-overview citations do not appear in organic for that query.
Wording changes who wins
How a question is phrased decides who gets cited. Category queries favour brands, surfacing them 63.9% of the time in AI overviews versus 55.7% in organic, while evaluation and how-to questions skew towards publishers and video. The study evaluated more than 8,000 citations across 700-plus responses.
Where to place your bets
Format matters as much as authority. YouTube videos are 4.3 times more likely to appear in AI overviews than in search, while Reddit skews 3.9 times towards organic, so a single-channel bet leaves gaps. With 53% of consumers wary of AI answers, being the cited source is its own trust play.
Our takeaway: Audit your visibility in AI overviews separately from your search rankings, and spread proven content across video, community and owned pages rather than betting on one.
