The Top 3 Stories

1. HubSpot puts every AI agent under one roof
HubSpot launched Agent Hub and Agent Builder in public beta, giving marketing, sales and service teams one console to build and monitor AI agents that share the same customer data. A no-code canvas assembles agents in plain language. One early user cut a 20-minute task to seconds, a projected 350 hours a year.
Why it matters: The pitch is coordination: stopping your prospecting agent and your service agent from working the same account blind. 📰 CMSWire
2. The EU starts policing AI-made ads from 2 August
From 2 August, the EU AI Act’s Article 50 makes advertisers and agencies responsible for labelling AI-generated ads and synthetic spokespeople shown to European audiences. New Commission guidelines confirm marketing gets no artistic exemption and require machine-readable watermarks. Fines reach 15 million euros or 3% of global turnover.
Why it matters: If you run AI creative into the EU, labelling is now a compliance job, and the liability sits with the brand, not the platform. 📰 PPC Land
3. Reddit weighs walking away from its $60m Google AI deal
Reddit shares fell 9% after the Wall Street Journal reported it may not renew its roughly $60m-a-year deal letting Google train AI on its content. Executives reportedly want usage-based fees, frustrated that AI Overviews are draining the referral traffic the deal was built on.
Why it matters: The value of content is being repriced for the AI era, and anyone leaning on search referrals should expect the ground to keep moving. 📰 Quartz

Quote of the week
AI should not just automate old targeting models. It should help brands make better decisions about where, when, and how to show up.
Why it matters: As agentic tools spread, the edge is not automating the old targeting playbook faster, it is using AI to make genuinely better calls.

How to turn a product page into a converting video ad using Loova Ads Studio
Overview:
Loova Ads Studio turns a single product URL into a batch of test-ready video ads in about 20 minutes.
Step-by-step:
Paste your product URL
Drop the link in and let Loova pull your images, copy and price. Check it grabbed the right hero shot before you continue.Pick a proven format
Choose a UGC testimonial, product demo or avatar structure. Match the format to the platform you are buying, not the one you like.Generate variations
Create three to five versions with different hooks. Change one element at a time so you can tell what actually moves results.Swap products or presenters
Reuse a winning structure with a new product or avatar. This is where the few-dollars-per-ad economics beat a full shoot.Export and test
Export in each platform’s aspect ratio and put small spend behind each. Let click-through, not taste, pick the winner.
Pro tip: Save your best-performing structure as a template and rerun it every launch, so each campaign starts from a proven base.
The weekly deep dive
The AI bill marketers didn’t see coming
AI usage across marketing is soaring. Proof that it pays off is not.
Metering the machine
Agencies spent a year treating AI like an unlimited resource; now the meter is running. Media agency PMG rolled out a $50-a-day token cap per employee, not because staff hit it, but to stay in control when demand spikes. It echoes early programmatic: years of uncritical spend before anyone audited it.
Nobody can price it
Tracking token spend is easy; knowing what it delivered is not. Dept refuses to pass token costs to clients, S4’s Monks builds them into subscriptions, and the big holding companies bury them in media deals. Three answers to one unsolved problem: no agreed way to measure what the AI produced.
The honeymoon is over
Clients assume AI means a smaller bill, so agencies argue value to buyers who have already decided the only acceptable outcome is lower cost. Publicis booked 17 basis points of margin gain this half, after ploughing more than 30 into AI tools and training first. Coca-Cola’s last Christmas ad reportedly took 70,000 prompts.
Our takeaway: Before you expand another AI pilot, agree how you will measure its output, or you will keep paying for motion you cannot tell apart from progress.
