The Top 3 Stories

1. Sprinklr ships 16 AI features to close the action gap

Sprinklr's Summer '26 release pushes its customer experience platform from listening to acting, pairing agentic AI for autonomous fixes with copilot support for human calls. New LLM Insights tracks how brands show up in AI search, and Sprinklr MCP pipes its data into Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude.

Why it matters: Martech is quietly becoming an agent stack; know which actions you are delegating before the platform decides for you. 📰 CMSWire

2. Murati's first model bets against one-size-fits-all AI

Thinking Machines, the lab founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, released Inkling, an open-weight model enterprises can download and fine-tune as their own. In the companies' own tests, hedge fund Bridgewater tuned an open model to beat top proprietary AI on financial reasoning at roughly a fourteenth of the running cost.

Why it matters: If tuned open models keep winning on cost, brand-specific marketing models stop being a big-lab luxury. 📰 TechCrunch

3. Instacart gives store shelves AI eyes

Instacart has acquired Arpalus, whose AI turns a quick video scan into a real-time picture of what is actually on a shelf, accurate 95% of the time. The tech will arm 600,000 shoppers and camera-fitted Caper Carts, feeding live availability into retailer storefronts and fulfilment.

Why it matters: Physical shelf data is becoming programmable, so expect stock-level signals to start steering retail media and ecommerce decisions. 📰 Retail TouchPoints

This is very likely the future of where targeting could go.

David Dworin, Chief Product Officer, FreeWheel, on vector-based ad targeting, speaking to Digiday, 14 July 2026

Vector embeddings could replace IDs as targeting currency; learn to brief them before your agency does.

How to remix your niche's winning ads using Goose Ads Remixer

The overview: Goose Ads Remixer turns the ads already performing in your niche into a fresh batch of on-brand Meta creatives in minutes.

Step-by-step:

  1. Create an account and paste your website
Goose pulls your logo, product images and messaging automatically. Check the brand details before generating; wrong assets multiply fast.

  2. Choose up to 15 winning ads from your niche
Pick the public ads whose hooks and offers you rate. Variety beats volume, so mix formats and angles.

  3. Generate your batch
Goose learns the principles behind each winner, not the pixels. Expect on-brand variations rather than copies.

  4. Edit what misses and export
Tweak copy or layouts before you ship. Your first 10 ads are free, so test before committing.

Pro tip: Rerun the batch monthly; the winning ads in your niche rotate faster than your creative calendar.

The weekly deep dive

The $400 campaign: what Dollar Shave Club knows about AI creative

Dollar Shave Club built its name on a $4,000 video in 2012; its best campaign since cost a tenth of that.

From $4,000 to $400
The brand's "250 Years. No BS. Still Free" campaign launched on 1 July, made in-house with AI tools including Higgsfield and Claude for just $400. Brief to near-finished took about a week. Dollar Shave Club calls it the most successful campaign in its history, with buyers spending well beyond the $2.50 starter kit.

AI for the jokes you cannot film
The follow-up, Danglers, sells its viral Ball Spray with a 15-second AI hero video starring a pair of truck nuts. Chief brand officer Laura Higgins says AI lets the brand take "a cartoony look at things" no actor could deliver. Absurd premises now cost days, not production budgets.

The agency remit shrinks
Agency Too Short For Modeling briefed the early AI work, but Higgins expects to lean on it less now her in-house team has proven itself. AI, she argues, lets creatives be creative and brand managers be strategic. A brand-level platform campaign lands around October.

Our takeaway: When production is nearly free, speed and taste become the only budget lines that matter.
